Templars is a team.
A great team doesn't simply show up on game day. They practice together, eat meals together, relax together, and even lead together. If great teams do this for the perishable crowns of the world, could we borrow their wisdom to serve the imperishable?
For 25 years, the answer has been a resounding yes.
A Templars chapter works a lot like a football team. However, serving at the altar is the principal work of the Order, replacing game day. Like a football team, the brothers of the Templars Order don't simply show up on game day. Their work expands from the liturgy into the community, their social lives, and even their spiritual growth outside of the Mass.

10+ male teenagers
The Templars Order offers young men the opportunity to step into leadership roles within their chapter. Brothers develop the skills necessary to become the future leaders of their families, communities, and the Church.
The leadership structure within each chapter mirrors the traditional roles of the medieval Knights Templar military order:
-
Master: The main leader of the chapter, responsible for guiding the brothers and ensuring they stay true to the work of the Order.
-
Seneschal: The second-in-command, who supports the Master and steps in when needed.
-
Other Leadership Roles: The Marshal, Commander, and Draper spearhead Liturgical training, fellowship, and chapter finances respectively.
By serving in these roles, young men grow in virtue, decision-making, and leadership, preparing them for a lifetime of service to the Church.

Confrères—lay adult mentors—are essential to the success of each chapter. These men serve as role models and guides. While the priest chaplain provides spiritual leadership, the confrères handle much of the week-to-week work, ensuring that the chapter operates smoothly.
Each chapter requires at least two confrères, though more are encouraged. These men model Christian manhood, mentor the young men, and ensure that the chapter remains active and engaged, even when the priest is unavailable. Your Chapter Success Coach will support your confrères, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge needed to fulfill their roles.
The confrères are required to complete diocesan safe environment protocols before ministering to the youth of the chapter on behalf of the parish.

Priest-chaplain
A Templars chapter begins with a Catholic priest who is committed to guiding young men in their spiritual growth and celebrating the Mass with reverence. The priest chaplain plays a vital role in the spiritual formation of the brothers, ensuring that their participation in the Templars Order deepens their relationship with Christ and the Church.
While the priest offers spiritual guidance and sacraments, he allows the young men to take ownership of their chapter. This balance between mentorship and autonomy helps the brothers grow in faith and responsibility without needing constant oversight from the priest.
